Vision
Native Niche LLC seeks to conserve and restore natural areas in Southeastern Wisconsin, reconnecting the land to Wisconsin’s Natural Heritage.
Our Mission
Native Niche LLC builds strong relationships with dedicated landowners to create holistic, long-term ecological plans. We utilize comprehensive, scientifically-supported land management practices to carry out non-native plant removal, flora and fauna assessments, prairie construction and maintenance, prescribed burning, native garden design and management, and wildlife housing installations.
Values
● We first aim to do-no-harm to the land; we start by protecting the good things that already exist.
● We have a diverse tool-box of skills to lean on; herbicides are just one of them and are rarely the first that we turn to.
● We care about the lands we work on, cherishing them as if they were our own.
● We aim to be the best trained crew of land restoration specialists in Wisconsin; professional development and continuing education are key to our success.
● We respect one another and we give back to the natural and social communities to which we belong.
Jamie Sue - Founder
● Founded in 2017
● Started with a crew of 3 people
● Jamie Sue developed her love and appreciation for the natural world at a young age, fostered by a family who loved spending time outdoors.
● Jamie Sue has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and has run other small businesses with her sisters.
● She spent 9 years as a technician for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and with the Friends of the Cedarburg Bog. Working and volunteering alongside friends, colleagues, specialists, and other dedicated professionals, Jamie Sue became intimately familiar with the plant and animal communities of Southeastern Wisconsin.
● Say something about her philanthropy; she cares about giving back by volunteering with organizations such as Friends of the KettleMoraine Northern Unit and any other orgs she has worked with.
● She is passionate about growing her business while also showing up for her husband and son.
